We plan to organize a conventional cultivar trial and an Alternaria resistance/tolerance trial. The two trials will be planted in late February/early March at the Horticultural Crops Research Station located in Clinton, NC. The field tour associated with the conference will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 (12:30-5:30pm).
We welcome submission of carrot cultivars to include in the Carrot Cultivar Conventional plots at the 41st International Carrot Conference. We will only accept submissions for the conventional plots. Material for the Alternaria trial will be limited to a pre-selected group of plant introductions (PI). The 41st ICC Organizing Committee is eager to have plots in the cultivar trial representing diverse carrot types and varieties. Please submit entries for the demonstration trials!
Entries should be submitted into one of the following groups (we can accept up to 6 cultivars in each group per company or individual):
Imperator cellos
Imperator cut ‘n peel
Novel colored carrots
Processing types
Nantes types
Breeding populations/inbred lines
Others
Those interested in participating should send 20 g of raw (non-pelleted) seed. The seed can be treated with fungicides if the entries will be planted in the conventional trial.
Mail the seed to: Massimo Iorizzo NC State University PHHI 600 Laureate Way Kannapolis NC 28081 USA Tel: +1-704-250-5469 Entries must be received by January 10, 2024.
