We plan to organize a Carrot Cultivar Demonstration trial and an Alternaria trial. The trials will be displayed on July 10, 2024 (12:30 – 5:30 pm, see agenda) at the Horticultural Crops Research Station in Clinton, NC, USA.
We welcome submission of carrot cultivars to include in the two trials. The 41st ICC Organizing Committee is eager to have plots in the trials representing diverse carrot types and varieties. Please submit entries for the demonstration trials!
Entries should be submitted into one of the following groups: 1. Imperator cellos 2. Imperator cut ‘n peel 3. Novel colored carrots 4. Processing types 5. Nantes or Kuroda
Each seed company can submit up to 20 seed samples, but no more than five samples for any of the five categories listed above. Each sample you submit needs to be identified as to which of the five categories it belongs. For category 3, please indicate the root color, and for category 5, identify as either 'Nantes' or 'Kuroda'. We plan to plant the processing types before the other categories.
For the Alternaria trial, each company can send up to 2 seed samples, and no need to identify any of the above cultivar categories (1-5).
Those interested in participating should send 20 grams of seeds (non-pelleted) per entry. The seed for the conventional trial can be treated with fungicide. Please send the seed samples to: Massimo Iorizzo NC State University PHHI 600 Laureate Way Kannapolis NC 28081 USA Tel: +1-704-250-5469
Entries must be received by February 1, 2024. Questions can be directed to Massimo Iorizzo (704-250-5469 or [email protected]).
