We have a total of 183 cultivars planted at each of two densities in the conventional trial at the WSU Mount Vernon NWREC, and 58 cultivars planted at each of two densities in the organic trial at Ralph’s Greenhouse in Skagit Co. All the cultivars except the tropical ones were planted on 28 April for the conventional trial and 29 April for the organic trial using a 4-row Jang planter. The tropical cultivars were planted on 17 May using a single-row, hand-pushed Jang planter. We thank Jacob Slosberg and Tim Terpstra from Gowan Seed Co., and Bob Hulbert, Michael Derie, Tomasita Villarroel, Alex Batson, and Kayla Spawton at Washington State University for their expert help planting and maintaining the trials.
The cultivar trials have been planted so we cannot accept further entries for the trials.
